Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha where many visiting siltes for Buddhist Pilgrimage are located. The topmost place is known as Lumbini, a particular birthplace of Gautam Buddha. Lumbini lies in the southern part of Nepal where the temple of Maya Devi is situated with such a position when she was giving the birth of Sidartha Gautam in 563 BCE. Similarly, there are a lot of monasteries built by different countries in different style. This place covers the Holy Pond as well as the Lumbini International Research Institute. Actually, Lumbini was granted World Heritage status by UNESCO in 1997.Swayambhunath Stupa is another visiting site for Buddhist Pilgrimage in Nepal which is also known as the monkey temple. It is the popular Buddhist destination in Nepal. On top of this site, there is a big stupa which is surrounded by other small stupas and temples. Though, the Swayambunath is considered as the visiting site for Buddhist Pilgrimage in Nepal, there is the popular Hindu Temple too i.e. known as the Harati Temple. Actually, it is the temple of Goddess Harati who is also known as the goddess of children. So, every Saturday this temple is crowded by the Hindu people who worship her for saving the life of their kids. This site has two access points: a long stairway with 365 steps and a roadway around the hill. Likewise, Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the largest Tibetan Stupas in Nepal and the ancient stupa was the largest in the world, but it was hampered by the earthquake in April, 2015 and the renovation process is going on still now. These both stupas are enlisted in UNESCO Word Heritage Site. Besides, Namo Buddha is also the important visiting sites for Buddhist Pilgrimage in Nepal where the beautiful stupa is located on top of the hills and is considered as one of the best hiking places of Nepal.
